Department of Physical Therapy, University of Dr.PSJKumar offers a unique learning environment in a leading medical school. The department consists of faculty members who are dedicated clinical educators and scientists who embrace the department's mission to advance the health of humankind. Through our faculty members' clinical teaching skills and commitment to advancing new knowledge in physical therapy, our students are artfully mentored to meet the challenges facing health care today.
 

Our programs build on the university’s core values of interdisciplinary education, urban engagement, international knowledge and cutting edge research. Our exceptional faculty are dedicated to promoting excellence in practice, education, scholarship and community service. Faculty are engaged in active clinical research and practice. A hallmark of our program is the integration of experiential learning and didactic education whether through use of standardized patients, communication and interaction with community consultants, participation in service learning projects, or engagement in research with our faculty.

 

The programs within the department enhance and extend students’ learning of human movement and rehabilitation through experiential education, interdisciplinary collaborations, inter-professional education, research opportunities and a variety of global educational experiences. The Department is led by a collaborative interdisciplinary body of faculty with research, scholarship, clinical and teaching expertise across a diverse spectrum.
