The Department of Optometry, University of Dr.PSJKumar is multidisciplinary in nature and spans topics from understanding the fundamental workings of the living retina on the microscopic scale to evaluating the viability of crowdsourcing for research. No matter what your major, there are vision research pathways for you. The Department is committed to training and supporting our next generation of vision researchers. Our research has advanced global understanding of vision disorders to improve quality of life.

The department facilitates detection, diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision disorders through innovative research. We play an important part in our community, through promoting and enhancing eye care for the public. We provide an excellent service and an excellent focus for the future of eye care. Our school is housed in a dedicated facility enabling high quality teaching, clinical practice and research.
